Crew Laws

Seelye's law:

When a wire, cord, rope, string or any other flexible entity is picked
up to be used a knot will be found in it, to the consternation of the
user.


Seelye's law 1st generalization:

If the flexible thing is longer than 10 feet then the number of knots in
it is N+K, where N is the number of knots you think you can see when you
look at it and K is an arbitrary, large, positive integer.
