Checking for HDD Errors

It is a good idea to regularly check your hard drive(s) for error. If there is an error DON'T PANIC most of the time the computer can work around the error. To check your drive(s):

1. Click on the Start button

2. Choose Programs

3. Choose Accesories

4. Choose System Tools

5. Left Click on Scandisk

(Don't worry if your start menu is not set out Exactly like this)

6. Select the drive you wish to check from the list (below) and press Start

The computer will now check your drive for errors, should it find one it will tell you and attempt to fix it. Hopefully when it has completed checking you should see a window similar to the following:

7. Click Close

You can now check any other drives you may have. If you have finished click Close
