Formatting Decimals in Excel

When using Excel it can create some useless numbers (i.e. too many/few decimal places), For example:

1. Select the cells you wish to format

2. Click on the FORMAT Drop Down Menu

3. Click on the CELLS option, and you get a window similar to the following

4. Select NUMBER

5. choose the ammount of Decimal places you want (In this case 1)

6. Click OK to apply the formatting, and you get

In the Cell formatting box you can change all sorts of properties. e.g. Colours, fonts, sizes, style, tipe of formatting and so on. The best thing to do is to play with these settings to see what they do.
